A Time Yet To Come (Daniel 10:12-14)

Updated: Jul 7, 2021

We all want things to happen when we want them to happen. We all want to see results of our labor right now. We all want to reap our harvest when we want it, but it doesn’t work out that way all the time. As a child of Christ we should know that nothing is in our timing, it’s always in God’s timing. I was sharing these words  with one of my children to encourage them and to tell them to not  give up on God! We have to stand on the promises of God and keep the faith. In Hebrews 11:1 it reads, “Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” Stop focusing on what we see and keep our focus on God. Daniel shows us how to endure in spite of what we do not see.

In Daniel 10:12-14 it reads, ” Then he said, “Don’t be afraid, Daniel. Since the first day you began to pray for understanding and to humble yourself before your God, your request has been heard in heaven. I have come in answer to your prayer. 13 But for twenty-one days the spirit prince[a] of the kingdom of Persia blocked my way. Then Michael, one of the archangels,[b] came to help me, and I left him there with the spirit prince of the kingdom of Persia.[c] 14 Now I am here to explain what will happen to your people in the future, for this vision concerns a time yet to come.”

See God heard you the first time, but because of the warring that you don’t see, you thought God has forgotten about you. Look again! He’s fighting on your behalf. Daniel waited for 21 days. Your time may be 21 minutes, 21 hours, 21 days, or 21 years!  But while you wait, continue to humble yourself and pray until your answer is delivered. Keep in mind although the messenger angel came down to answer Daniel’s pray, there was still a war going on. The warring angel Michael was left behind to continue to fight while the message angel delivered the vision to Daniel.

So, don’t give up on God because things are not going as you planned. Don’t give up on God when the door closes in your face. Don’t give up on God when you have been redirected from your way and directed in the way God always planned for you. Don’t give up on God because things are not moving according to your timeline. Keep praying. Keep believing. Your time is yet to come.
